A Search for Whatever is True, Good and Beautiful
Welcome! This blog came out of my experiences in my quest for what is true, good and beautiful.
What this blog is: It is a personal blog which tells one person's story, of what Christ can do when yielding to His transforming love. It is a love story. In the book of James it is written, "draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." I found this to be true, except, much of the time when God drew near, I was like the toxic toad that pees on you when it is picked up. At first, I did not know how to respond to the overwhelming, beautiful, unconditional love of God I was experiencing, and yet, He continues to pursue me out of His immense love and mercy.
What this blog is not: a humblebrag of my achievements and merits - I have none of my own accord. Apart from Christ, I can do nothing.
It is not a blog about what a wonderful person I am - I'm not. Anything good in me was put there by God. To God be the glory.
It's not a blog that says, "follow me, look at me" but instead points you to the One who has the real power to transform: Jesus Christ.
I, Ruth, a servant and disciple of Jesus Christ, offer this writing as a testimony of the transforming love of Christ in one who is not worthy of being a speck of dust on the bottom of the sandal John the Baptist said he was unworthy to untie, one who is not worthy of being the crud underneath the toenail of Christ, one who is not worthy of being a speck of dirt on the bottom of the robe of Christ.
Much of my life was spent running from God, afraid. However, a personal encounter with the risen Christ changed all that. When I finally understood my identity as a beloved daughter of God the Father, and my dignity as one made in the image of God, I started to yield to His love. However, as I was in need of much healing, I'd often ruin it by my control, attachments, distractions, and fear. I was like the injured bird, after having been caught to be nurtured back to health, didn't understand and kept beating my wings harder and harder, in a flurry of panic, further injuring myself, instead of surrendering to the kind, gentle touch of the Creator.
In my experience, a heart-to-heart conversation almost always starts with a good cup of coffee or tea, and so, sit back with your favorite cup of coffee or tea, and read about what Jesus can do in one wounded person's honest, vulnerable journey with Christ. My hope is you will be inspired to invite Jesus in to transform and heal your life too.
Thank you so much for being part of this community. Let's learn together how to discover the true, good and beautiful in each day, and become the people God created us to be!
Dear God, I ask you to convert me, and create in me a clean heart. May everything I share and write be only for the greater glory of God and according to God’s will and help bring about an increase in true, beautiful, authentic love. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. Praise be Jesus Christ, now and forever. Praise be Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!
This blog is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
I'd love to connect with you and hear how Christ is transforming your life!
